Tsavo national park is one of the largest national parks in kenya at 22,000 square kilometres. It is divided into Tsavo east and Tsavo west. The two parks are separated by the Nairobi Mombasa highway. 

Tsavo national park was opened in 1948 with David Sheldrick being the first warden. During his tenure, he managed to turn the park into one of the most famous parks in the world.
